Description

The sealed Battery Powered GPS Tracker from Pay as you Track features a small size, superior GPS performance and replaceable AA batteries. The Battery Powered GPS Tracker is a complete asset tracking and communications device for any mobile high-value asset. No configuration or installation is required, the Battery Powered GPS Tracker can simply be placed in or attached to the mobile asset as required.

The device incorporates a very low power movement detector. This enables the device to remain dormant and use very little power until the asset moves. By choosing one of the configuration options you can select how often tracking data is recorded to the device and returned to Pay as you Track. Battery life is dependent on how often your asset moves and which configuration option is chosen.

Configuration A (extra low power): 10min tracking and reporting. GPS and GSM are both off for most of the time. The device wakes up every 10min, gets a fix, sends it and goes back to sleep. Very low battery use but journey plots on the map can look look poor due to the coarse-grained positions and start/end times can be delayed by several minutes. Useful if you want to know roughly where you asset it but are not interested in how it got there

Configuration B (very low power): 1min tracking with reporting only at the end of the journey. GPS stays on for the whole journey but data is sent back at the end of the journey. Journey plots on the map look good but data is not realtime as it is only sent back at the end of the journey. Useful if you want to know how and when your asset got from A to B but you are not interested realtime data

Configuration C (low power): 1min tracking with reporting every 10min. GPS is on most of the time but is turned off before turning on the GSM modem to send the data. Turning GPS off to send the data will produce gaps in the location records but you do have some idea of where the unit is while it’s moving. Useful if you want to know how when your asset got from A to B and you are interested almost realtime data
