Vehicle theft is on the increase.
So, what are the options to, prevent car thefts and aid vehicle recovery as far as possible?
Well if you ‘google’ solutions to car theft the Met Police advise a list of common sense approaches such as locking your vehicle, various physical deterrents and being aware of ‘relay theft’ for keyless entry vehicles (https://www.met.police.uk/cp/crime-prevention/keeping-vehicles-safe/preventing-car-vehicle-theft/).
There are also immobiliser solutions available, these can be expensive and need to be looked at carefully in case they invalidate any vehicle warranty.
What about GPS options; all or most tracking platform today provide features such as geofence entry and exit, tow-away and tracker tamper and other alarms to alert the driver or owner to the fact that their vehicle is being or has been stolen.
However with many free apps now available to detect the presence and location a tracker in a vehicle it becomes quick and easy to disable it.
Game changer ….. a tracker that can’t be detected
