Roaming SIMs and Connectivity
All PAYT GPS devices use roaming SIMs, which are designed to hop across multiple mobile networks for the best possible coverage and reliability.
As 3G disappears and 2G begins its gradual exit, here’s what to expect:
- Some localised SIM outages or disruptions—mostly minor and temporary.
- A slight reduction in available networks, which roaming SIMs are designed to handle smoothly.
What About Older Trackers?
Most installed GPS tracking devices are still 2G-capable. The good news? They should continue operating effectively through at least 2028.
But we’re also preparing for the future…
Upgrading to 4G+
Starting 1 September 2025, PAYT will begin offering 4G+ compatible GPS devices. These newer trackers are ready for the next generation of mobile networks—and built for long-term performance
